House Bill 1836, the Alamo Cenotaph Bill, has cleared a major hurdle in the Texas House and you have a role to play in its future success.
The Alamo Cenotaph Bill, authored by Representative Kyle Biedermann, has been scheduled for a hearing in the Culture, Recreation, and Tourism Committee in the Texas House on April 2nd at 2pm in room E1.014 in the Texas Capitol (click here for Capitol map).
This bill is a critical measure that will prevent the removal/relocation of the Cenotaph and provides a 2 year waiting period on actions related to the Cenotaph. This gives Texans and legislators additional time to sort out all of the issues related to the Alamo and moves the TNM closer to achieving all of its 2013 Alamo demands.
We encourage all supporters to either attend the hearing to register their support of 1836 or contact the committee members and sound off on your support. If you plan to attend the hearing, please contact Suzi Dantzler, the TNM’s Legislative Director, as she will be handling on-site coordination for our efforts. You can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at (361) 302-1836.
