2021-03-16 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | 3.16.21 Left a voice mail about bringing HB1359 up for a hearing |
2021-03-18 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | No one answered. I left a voice mail asking that he set a hearing for HB 1359. I expressed my support for the Bill and my desire to testify before him. |
2021-03-18 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | I have called Rep. Paddie's office every day this week (3/15) and have not reached a real person yet. I have left a message each time encouraging him to set HB1359 for hearing immediately because Texans should have the right to decide their own future. |
2021-03-19 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Received an email | I sent this email today (3/19): Hello Rep. Paddie, Back in 2014 you honored my family when my father died. We truly appreciated that you respected my Dad enough to acknowledge his good life. But I come to you now with an extremely important request to schedule HB1359 for hearing immediately. Whether you believe in the concept of secession or not is irrelevant since all this Bill will do is give Texans the right to choose for themselves at the polls. Of course, there's always a 50/50 chance that the Referendum won't pass but you should believe that Texans are smart enough to decide for themselves. Your job in Austin is to make sure our voices are heard no matter what your preference is. I tend to believe that most of the resistance from legislators to this Bill is because they KNOW that the resulting Referendum will be PASSED BY THE PEOPLE. Please consider putting what's best for Texans first and set this Bill for hearing immediately. |
2021-03-23 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Received an email | Mr. Paddie, I am not in your voting district, so I am contacting you as a fellow Texan. I have just called both Rep. Jim Murphy and Sen.Joan Huffman to ask them to discuss with their constituency (mine) the Referendum currently in your committee. My message to my 2 elected officials: "We would like to hear from our district 133 Rep J. Murph (Sen. Joan Huffman) on Texas Referendum Act HB 1359. As a state our relationship with the federal government is not working. Just to cite one issue: Texans should not have to wait for ICE, FEMA or any presidential administration to act on problems at our border. This situation affects ALL Texans and is a clear and present danger to not only Texas residents but also to those who are crossing. No doubt those undocumented children are at risk of being absorbed into the human trafficking and pedophilia trade . We at Texas Nationalist Movement want to see action on the Referendum. We want our voices to be included in the discussion, not isolated by legislators in Austin. it would be respectful of you to make a reply to those voices who are emailing, calling and contacting.you." Mr. Paddie, I grew up on the border and understand our border problems with all shades of brown. We can manage our various problems within Texas but we have to get disentangled from federal policies that let Rome burn while Austin fiddles. We at TNM are counting on your respect for the people's voice. That means giving HB 1359 Referendum Act a hearing. Give it a hearing and we will know you believe in the people of Texas. |
2021-03-25 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Called Austin office and left a message asking Rep. Pattie to schedule a hearing for HB 1359. Left my phone number and requested a status on the issue. |
2021-03-26 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | 3.24.21 - Left another voice mail about getting a hearing for HB1359. I have yet to speak to a human being. |
2021-03-27 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | 3/23: Called his office and left vm that I was aware his State Affairs Committee was meeting next day, and that HB1359 was not on the docket. Said that among the many problems facing the committee, many could be eased with Texas Independence. Request: please include in your agenda HB1359 for your committee meeting next week of 3/29. |
2021-04-05 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Just spoke with Allison at his Austin number. Let her know that while legislators have numerous serious matters to address in this session, HB1359 holds relevance to many and the issue of Texas independence is not going to go away. Not ever. The sooner it is addressed and brought before the people, the easier for everyone - why not get it out in the open now. It is prudent for Mr. Paddie to pay attention to the voices contacting him from TNM and to those from unseen supporters (I, as a 60+ year TX resident for example). Mr. Paddie should put HB1359 on the State Affairs Committee agenda during this session in time for May 21 date. Allison's response; Appeared to listen attentively and assured me she would see that he got the message. |
2021-04-05 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Also call his local district office and left similar voice mail with Jill. 2021-04-08 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Paddie’s office is getting lots of calls. They won’t take a stance. They said they have 550 bills. She almost admitted most callers were calling for tira. But she also said they had to pay attention to the other bills. Frustrating! |
2021-04-08 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Spoke to staff... not very supportive of HB1359. Staff was polite. |
2021-04-09 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Met with office staff, who were polite but had no information they were willing to share. A waste of time. |
2021-04-09 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Several weeks ago, I called his office to strongly encourage him to immediately schedule a hearing for HB 1359. |
2021-04-08 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Spoke to staff... not very supportive of HB1359. Staff was polite. |
2021-04-09 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Only interacted with his office, they basically said HB 1359 is one of 500 and he doesn’t have time to consider them all. |
2021-04-14 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | I called his office twice today, and got a recording so left my message. In my 2nd call I posed questions, "Why is Mr. Paddie ignoring, therefore not respecting, the will of a large body of Texans? Is not his role to represent the will of the people? If so, why not respect them enough to allow a conversation by means of referendum on the issue of Texas Independence?" and leaving my phone number would look forward to his response. |
2021-04-27 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | No answer so left message re: HB 1359, no response so far. Will keep trying. |
2021-04-29 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Spoke to Carson in his office. I told him that I expected Mr Paddie to advance HB 1359 Through the process so that it can be put on the ballot in Nov thus giving Texans the right to vote on the issue. I let him know that it was a voting issue for me if he does not. Carson took my name and said he would give Mr Paddie the message. |
