2023-01-11Texas Independence Referendum ActPersonal visit1/10/2023 - Met Representative Dennis Paul in his chamber at the State Capital. It was the first day of the 88th Legislative Session. I was welcomed by his Staff because I am one of his constiguents from District 129. I got right to the point, and asked if he would Support Texit. He said no. I explained why he should. He seemed to agree with everything until we ended up on how Texas will support itself. His concern was because the Republic failed after 10 years because it could not support itself. We couldn't talk very long because he had to get to the Legislative floor. He did tell me to come talk to him when he gets back to his District office. Bottom line, his concern is how will we pay for it. I have on spoken with 3 Representatives and 2 Senators about supporting Texit. They all say, "Show me the Money".
2023-03-06Texas Independence Referendum ActPhone conversationDaniel, a Staff member for Representative Dennis Paul informed me Rep. Paul was in a legislative meeting. I asked to deliver my message a constituent from District 129. that HB3596 has been filed and that I wanted a Vote for TEXIT. Daniel said he would deliver this message to Rep. Paul. Daniel also tried to remind that Sucession is unconstitutional. I asked him what was his source? He couldn't say....I expressed that I did not call to prove he was inaccurate. I suggest that he read Article 10 of the US Constitution. Also, I reminded his to read Article 1, section 2 of the Texas Constitution. I explained that people spread Project Fear (rumors) among each other. He immediately found Texas v. White Supreme Court case. I immediately refered him to Article 10 of the US Constitution. When a state decides to leave the union, it can do so, as long as its principals, allows it to, and the federal government has no authority to stop it, because the federal government is merely the agent of that state. I explained that each and every state in the union has the right to leave whenever it decides. There is no law in preventing the state it's soverign right to exit. I then referred him to Brexit within the European Union. I told him not to take my word on any of this and to do his homework. I also explained that Rep. Paul is very opened to discuss this with his fellow legislators once it became a House Bill. Bottom line, I just reminded him refer to HB3596, sponsored by Rep. Bryan Slaton. Daniel said that he would get the message that we want a Vote on TEXIT to be passed onto the Governor Abbott.
2023-03-24Texas Independence Referendum ActPhone conversationDennis Paul was not in. His aide, Daniel indicated that Rep. Paul was home in Clear Lake attending business of his own running a Civil Engineering company. I hope to find this location. I went on to ask Daniel to relay to Rep. Paul to endorse and support HB 3596 when it get to the floor of the Legislature. I reminded Daniel that Rep. Paul was very interested on how Texas will be able to support itself. I immediately responded that I will be testifying to the Legislature when HB 3596 comes to the floor.
