2021-03-12 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Called austin office again was told that he does want to speak to me but has been to busy with committee meetings etc to return my call. Staff stated they would pass along my message to him once again. |
2021-03-19 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Had a great hour long plus conversation with Mayes this afternoon. we discussed several issues including the TIRA. Mayes stated he understands the purpose behind the bill and why it is needed, however he feels that since only so many bills can be passed each session he would like to focus on those that would bring more immediate relief and protection to Texans. He stated that that he is in no way opposed to HB1359 and will get with Rep. Beidermann to discuss it with him further and would consider signing on as a coauthor. He gave me his cell number and asked me to stay in touch and went so far as to work towards sitting down for lunch when he is back in the district to discuss issues and ways we could move forward in the advancement of Texas first. Overall at the end of the conversation he is on the fence with HB1539 but leaning towards supporting it. |
2021-04-09 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | Spoke with his office staff. They do not know where he stands on HB 1359, but they seemed sincere in telling him I stopped by and wanted his support for HB 1359. |
2021-04-09 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Mayes called me after my visit yesterday. He is not against HB 1359. His priority is protecting individual freedoms and he is focused on other bills right now that he feels are more pressing but if the bill makes it out of committee he will most likely support it. |
2022-10-14 | Other | Personal visit | He completely dodged Article 1, Section 2 when being question for his support our Planks in March, 2023 Legislature Session. He is hung up on where will get the money to fund the state after we TEXIT. I tried to explain that we already pay out over $330 which he immediately agreed that it was paid as Federal Income Tax. He cut me off that yes, that we overpaid $120 billion. We would keep paying the $210 billion that is needed to run Texas and that we would pocket the rest. He did like the part to no Texas Property Tax. Basically he cut Rhonda and me off and had to move onto other people at the Briscoe Cain Event. |
2022-10-14 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Personal visit | I met Mayes at a Briscoe Cain fundraiser Oct 13 2022 in Crosby. He would not allow me to ask him any questions and expressed vary clearly he did not want to talk to Ken C. (League City LC) and I, and that he was busy and maybe later. But he was not busy. So we all had a chat. He often changed the subject to unrelated topics. He would not let me ask him a question, so I asked him to read my question which I had written on paper. He did. He said "it's too complicated" many times and asked something about "money". I have audio only from the incoherent conversation. He did not want to be video tapped. I still recorded it. He didn't want to give any time to his potential voters. I told him to read the Texit book and that would answer all his questions. He didn't seem friendly or open to learning about Texit. It seemed like I was talking to a new employee at Best Buy who got hired because his dad owned the store and I was a shopper who wanted to know a little more then where the restroom was located. |

2023-01-13 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | I spoke to an aide, Matt Patterson, that gave me an email address to send some information about Texit. |
2023-01-15 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | I called Senator Mayes Middleton's office and spoke to an aide on the phone. The aide gave me an email address and asked me to send some information to him via email. I sent TNM printed and approved information to that email address. I requested that Senator Middleton support a referendum for Texas Independence to be placed on a ballot to allow fellow registered citizens to vote for or against Texas Independence. |
2023-01-23 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Received a letter | I sent a postcard to Senator Middleton about a referendum for Texas Independence to be added to the ballot for registered Texas voters. |

2023-02-10 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Schedule a call with staff through [email protected] He scheduled my call with Matt Patterson, Policy Analyst. We discussed the pending TEXIT bill and the relationship between the Texas Power grid reliability problem and the federal government. He was interested in the fact that Texans may not be responsible for the $31.5 billion federal debt. He had not spoken with the senator about this matter but he plans too. I asked for a follow-up call. |
2023-02-16 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | On 2/13/2023, I called Senator Middleton in Austin and spoke with an aide. I read the following script I had written which is the same script I read to Representative Bonnen: I wish Senator Middleton would support the Texit referendum that will allow Texans to vote whether "Texas should reassert itself as an independent nation". Our elections are fraudulent. One or two corrupt states can throw the national election in the direction their state leaders want regardless of the desire of the people of those states. U.S. Republican senators vote with the Democrats to pass outlandish bills that are against the desire of the people. Corrupt judges are ruling on behalf of those who want to destroy the United States and against the desire of the people. The President is a corrupt liar who works daily to destroy the United States in every direction from protecting our borders to causing financial hardships to illegal deals with China which are against the desire of the people. The people have no recourse. The people are blocked at every avenue the Constitution gave them to undo the wrongs that are destroying them. Please allow the people to vote. |
2023-02-23 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Called Senator Middletons Office Again spoke with Michael one of his aids discussed briefly with him about the TIRA asked that he please have Senator Middleton honor his oath of office and file a sister bill in the Senate and give the people a vote |
2023-03-07 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | I spoke very briefly with an aide of Mr. Middleton on Monday March 6th. Although polite, he seemed largely disinterested. When asked whether the senator would be told about the calls regarding the Texas Independence Referendum, I was given a rather curt reply that he is informed about everything. |
2023-03-24 | Texas Independence Referendum Act | Phone conversation | Called Mayes Middleton office in Austin. His staff member Mika informed me that Senator Middleton was not in. I identified that I am from SD 11 and wanted Mayes Middleton to support HB3596 when it goes to the Senate State Affairs Committee. It was indicated to Mika that I wanted Mayes Middleton to know that Texas has the 9th largest GDP in the world and that we are the only contributing state in the union. We always give more that we get back. Tell Mayes Middleton our economy can become a independent country that can take care of itself. We want him to support HB 3596 and give the people of Texas a chance to decide for ourselves, to again become The Republic of Texas. |
