DESCRIPTION:The TNM is hosting a livestreamed webinar with the foremost global expert on independence referendums\, Dr. Matt Qvortrup. As the only prominent academic to accurately predict the outcome of the BREXIT vote\, Dr. Qvortrup will discuss his work on independence movements around the world\, his new book “I Want To Break Free\,” and how it all shatters the opposition myths about TEXIT. \nDr. Matt Qvortrup is an internationally recognized political scientist with a strong presence in the world of practice. Described by the BBC as ‘the world’s leading expert on referendums”\, he has specialized in European Affairs\, populism and democracy\, most recently in his BBC program ‘How to Kill a Democracy’. Currently a Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Coventry University and visiting professor of Political Theory at the American University of Rome\, Matt earned his doctorate in politics from Brasenose College\, Oxford University\, and holds a qualification as a lawyer from the University of Law\, London. \nThe winner of the Oxford University Press Law Prize 2012 for his research on referendums\, he was also awarded the BJPIR Prize by the Political Studies Association in 2013 for his work on European political institutions. He has won funding from research councils\, including the ESRC\, as well as consultancies from national and international bodies. In 2015\, he was a consultant to the House of Commons Constitutional Affairs and Public Administration Committee\, and he was chief researcher for the Papua New Guinea National Research Institute study of referendums\, and he is currently the holder of a grant from the Westminster Foundation of Democracy\, on the conduct of referendums in the age of populism. \nIn addition to his academic work\, Professor Qvortrup has written op-eds for The Guardian\, The New Statesman\, El Pais\, Bloomberg\, Foreign Policy\, and the LA Times. Earlier in his career\, Professor Qvortrup was a senior civil servant in the British Home Office.

DESCRIPTION:The Texas Nationalist Movement has scheduled a virtual town hall for the declared candidates in the Governor’s race and you are cordially invited. \n\n\n\nThe virtual town hall will be held on November 7th from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm and will be streamed live across multiple streaming platforms\, including YouTube\, Facebook\, Twitter\, Twitch\, Rumble\, and the TNM’s soon-to-be-released Roku channel. \n\n\n\nInvitations have been sent to current Governor Greg Abbott\, Lt. Col. Allen West\, former State Senator Don Huffines\, and radio host and comedian Chad Prather. We will publish updates as candidates confirm. \n\n\n\nThe format will be the same as an in-person town hall. Each candidate will be given time for opening and closing statements. There will be questions posed to each candidate based on positions publicly taken by one or more of the candidates. The questions will center around critical policies that affect Texans and will deal with one or more of the core issues important to our supporters. Additionally\, we will take questions submitted by viewers in real-time. \n\n\n\nThe Virtual Town Hall will be hosted and moderated by the President of the Texas Nationalist Movement\, Daniel Miller. \n\n\n\nMiller explained that the event was created to meet the demands of people all over Texas. \n\n\n\n“Every event where I have spoken in the last two months has been filled with questions from Texans on where the candidates for Governor stand on several key issues. While I can only speak from personal experience and interactions with the candidates\, this will provide everyone in Texas with the opportunity to make up their own minds.”
